About

Artist and Printmaker Heather Urness likes to wander around Calgary, the West Coast, and the world looking for visual inspiration and great coffee.

With a Diploma in Graphic Design from MacEwan University and a BFA from the University of Calgary (Printmaking and Drawing) she creates artwork based on these inspirations with the hope that others may see the world in a new way.

She is very passionate about introducing printmaking to everyone and has had the pleasure of teaching and collaborating in the arts for over 25 years. As well as having an active art practice in her home studio, Heather also works as a Program Specialist (Visual Arts) for the City of Calgary.
